Should I avoid processed foods completely?
The less processed foods the better. We're all human and we all eat some processed foods every day, but the key is to be aware of this and cut back wherever possible. As a general rule, the closer you can get to a whole foods unprocessed diet the better. This is because a diet rich in whole foods has a significant positive impact on insulin and leptin sensitivity and on digestive tract health which in turn leads your body away from unwanted fat storage. We suggest aiming for 70-80% of your diet to be whole foods with 20-30% being processed foods.
